Set up a trust for your children that will ensure any money left to them will be made available when they come of age. These assets will be managed by a trustee.

Have a trustee parcel a specific amount of money to the child as you see fit. This could be a little each year and then a lump sum when they reach a certain age, you can also choose terms and conditions on how the money will be spent.

Both a will and trust spell out your desires for your assets, dependents and heirs. A will becomes effective after you pass away. A living trust means a trustee of your choice can carry out any instructions should you be unfit to do so due to incapacity.
